In Nizhny Novgorod it is planned to build 10 gas stations and convert 1000 cars from petrol to gas in 2020.

In 2020, the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region plans to build 10 gas stations and convert 1,000 cars from petrol to gas, thereby giving a new impetus to gas engine fuel in Nizhny Novgorod. According to the press service of the regional government, 72.5 million rubles will be allocated from the federal and regional budgets to subsidize the transfer of cars from gasoline to methane. At the same time, the subsidy for individuals and small businesses is doubled in 2020 - the corresponding decree No. 886 was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The transfer of vehicles only to methane fuel is subsidized. As of June, 7 methane gas stations operate in the Nizhny Novgorod Region: 5 in Nizhny Novgorod and one each in Dzerzhinsk and Arzamas. The price of a cubic meter of methane is 17 rubles - over the past 3 years it has risen in price by 70%. There is no state regulation of prices.
According to the acting Deputy Minister of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Artyom Bafanov, recipients of subsidies will be enterprises that are engaged in the conversion of cars. Motor vehicle owners will not receive subsidies.
According to the regional Ministry of Transport, in 2021-2022. 128.6 million rubles will be allocated for subsidies and 3.6 thousand vehicles will be transferred from gasoline to methane. Another 1 billion rubles from the federal and regional budgets will be invested in the construction of 26 gas stations.
