A prototype hydrogen-fueled bus will be tested in the capital during the year. When it was created, the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus was taken as a basis.
The KamAZ plant, which is part of the Rostec state corporation, presented on September 6 a prototype of a bus that runs on hydrogen fuel cells. As the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov told RBC, the main advantage of the car is the increased mileage compared to electric buses: instead of 70 km, a water bus can travel 250 km at one filling, so it can be used not only for intracity, but also for intercity communication.
“The world is moving forward, and we are not standing still. The water bus, or rather the hydrogen electric bus, is the next step in the search for alternative energy sources and in the development of modern environmentally friendly passenger transport. When it was created, the KamAZ-6282 electric bus was taken as a basis. For three years of use in the capital, this car has proven itself well - comfort, noiselessness, environmental performance, "Chemezov said.
A prototype of a water bus was assembled at a subsidiary of KamAZ - "NefAZ". If the Moscow authorities show interest in the development, the assembly of the water bus can be organized in Moscow, as is done with electric buses - they are assembled at the Sokolniki car repair and construction plant, Chemezov specified.
