On September 7, a presentation of special vehicles running on natural gas was held in Moscow as part of the Moscow Urban Forum.
MOEK, the main supplier of heat and hot water in the capital, commissioned the first 12 gas-fueled special vehicles this summer.
The capital has been making efforts to improve air quality in the city for more than 10 years. Since 2011, emissions of air pollutants have been reduced by 60%.
"This was largely achieved due to the fuel factor: the most environmentally friendly fuel - natural gas - at energy facilities and motor fuel of ecological class 5," said Anton Kulbachevsky, head of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow, who took part in the presentation.
MOEK drivers and mechanics have undergone a special training program to operate gas-fueled vehicles.
The use of gas-fueled vehicles will contribute to further reduction of environmental pollution in the capital.
