More than 200 new buses on compressed natural gas (CNG) will appear in the North-West branch of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans" by the end of October, according to the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow.
"Already in the fall we will receive new compressed natural gas-powered LIAZ buses. The fleet of such vehicles of "Mosgortrans" will reach 400 units. Eco-friendly transportation will be available on the existing routes of SAO, SVAO, ZAO, NWAO", - stated in the message.
The site "Khovrino" of the North-West branch of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans" is the only bus depot in Moscow, where buses on NGV fuel are serviced. The site has a special refueling infrastructure and has experience in working with compressed natural gas vehicles.
The agency noted that gas fuel emits less harmful substances, which reduces the impact on the environment. Due to its affordable price, route maintenance costs are reduced. Gas fuel does not form deposits in the engine and does not wash out the oil film, so the life of the motor is prolonged. Also, the increased range allows you to work the entire shift without refueling the bus.
It is about delivery of gas buses LIAZ-5292.67. The first cars started to arrive to the North-West branch in the middle of September.
