03 December 2024 Press release From 22 to 24 October, the 22nd International Exhibition of CNG, LNG, LPG, gas refueling equipment and gas vehicles, GasSuf, took place. The main event of the exhibition was the "Gas-Powered Transport" forum. Over the course of three days, more than 1,100 professionals attended the exhibition and forum, including 654 visitors to GasSuf and 447 visitors to other industrial equipment exhibitions held as part of the Intersectoral Technology Week. During the two days of the "Gas-Powered Transport" forum, 6 thematic events were held with the participation of 36 speakers, and the number of attendees exceeded 200. The strategic session of the forum focused on improving the environmental and energy efficiency of the transport sector. State initiatives and incentives were discussed, along with examples of the use of eco-friendly transport in cities, primarily in the passenger and freight transport sectors. At the expert panel "Gas-Powered Transport: How to Achieve Ambitious Goals?", the focus was on the promising areas of application for gas-powered vehicles and the potential for cooperation among market participants to promote their development. The prospects of hydrogen fuel in transport were discussed at the session "Hydrogen Technologies in the Transport Sector: Does Hydrogen Transport Have a Future in Russia?". The discussion covered Russian projects and examples of successful programmes and initiatives aimed at stimulating the use of hydrogen vehicles in various countries. Andrey Firsov, the Head of the Hydrogen Transport Project Office at Rusatom CEP (Complex Engineering Projects), spoke about the advantages of hydrogen transport over electric vehicles: "Hydrogen transport is not dependent on charging stations and has a much greater range – up to 1,000 km without refuelling. It also offers better performance in terms of speed, operation in high-altitude conditions, and in Arctic regions. Overall, it is less affected by climate fluctuations, making it more versatile in its application compared to electric transport." At the expert panel "Transport Powered by LNG: Development, Opportunities, Limitations, and Economics," key issues facing the industry were discussed, including the current state and prospects of the market, vehicle conversion programmes, support for the construction of LNG refuelling stations and mini-production plants, as well as the implementation of gas-powered transport in the commercial transport and municipal sectors. The needs of the market and key tasks facing domestic manufacturers were the primary topics of discussion at the thematic session "Equipment and Technologies for the Gas-Powered Industry: Import Substitution, Production Development, and International Cooperation in the Current Realities." The Gas Engine Industry Enterprises Union (SPGO) acted as a partner for the thematic session "LPG and Vehicle Conversion Market: Current Situation and Future Prospects." The main topics included the current state of the LPG market, measures to stimulate vehicle conversion, and the specifics of installing LPG equipment on vehicles from Chinese manufacturers. Speakers at the forum included representatives from relevant ministries and industry associations, as well as heads of key companies, including: Andrey Karavaev, Deputy Director of the Strategic Development Department at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation; Ekaterina Kuzmina, Vice President, Head of the Sustainable Development Department at Promsvyazbank; Svetlana Vorontsova, First Deputy General Director of the Transport Integration company; Dario Pelazzo, General Director of Landi Renzo Rus; Igor Voroshilov, Chairman of the Board at Krasnodar Compressor Plant; Kirill Ivanovsky, Head of the LNG Department at the Lenpromavtomatika Scientific and Production Complex; Andrey Belayev, Head of the Gas-Powered Transport Projects Group at KAMAZ; Natalia Pletnikova, Head of the Transport Solutions Centre at the Modern Transport Technologies Group of Companies; Marat Khusainov, Executive Director of the Gas Engine Industry Enterprises Union (SPGO); Andrey Bocharov, Head of the Client Relations Department at Gazprombank Leasing; Andrey Firsov, Head of the Hydrogen Transport Project Office at Rusatom CEP; Ilya Fedichev, Chief Designer at Evocargo; Alexey Levchenko, Head of the Competence Center for National Technology Initiative Scientific Departments in New and Mobile Energy Sources at the Federal Research Center for Chemical Physics and Medicinal Chemistry RAS. Partners of the forum included the Gas Engine Industry Enterprises Union (SPGO) and the analytical agency LNG.Expert. Exhibition Highlights This year, producers and suppliers of gas cylinder and gas refuelling equipment from Russia, China, and Belarus showcased their products. Gas Cylinder Equipment: Landi Renzo Rus, Novogrudok Gas Equipment Plant, Rongen Autogas Parts Manufacturer, Hunan Llano Electronic Technology Co., Hangzhou Newpioneer Import & Export Co., Sichuan Witent Science and Technology Co. Gas Refuelling Equipment: Monitoring Ventil & Fitting, AGZSstroyservis64, New Service Company, Hengyang Jinhua High Pressure Container Holding Co. At the stand of AGZSstroyservis64, a producer of LPG equipment, a model of a modular LPG station with an above-ground tank was displayed. The fire and thermal protection of this equipment met fire safety standards equivalent to an underground single-wall tank, but offered superior cost-effectiveness and ease of operation. Dmitry Lomakov, the Regional Manager at the company, commented on the interest the exhibition attendees showed in this equipment: "There is interest. Our clients are not necessarily only heads of refuelling stations, but also other companies using propane-butane in their production. We also deal with the gasification of industrial facilities such as grain drying complexes and gas boilers. There were enough visitors who showed interest. Everything was grea – the audience was targeted, and we had no real competition here." The Novogrudok Gas Equipment Plant presented automotive gas cylinder equipment, including toroidal and cylindrical gas cylinders for liquefied gas, equipment for converting vehicles to liquefied petroleum gas, and components. Dmitry Glushkov, the Head of Marketing and Sales at the company, highlighted the new opportunities for Belarusian manufacturers in the Russian market: "We came with the aim of exploring the possibility of participating in Russia's import substitution programme, particularly in converting vehicles to gas. We are interested in development prospects – expanding the range and possibly gaining a deeper penetration into this market. This year, we brought many new products, including a multi-valve that is an equivalent to European manufacturers' products and fully meets market requirements. There is definitely interest in our equipment. We had successful negotiations with partners, including those from China, – many components and equipment can be purchased from them. We will participate again next year." The next GasSuf exhibition will take place from 21 to 23 October 2025 at Crocus Expo! Book a stand
