Mikhail Mishustin approved an increase in the share of subsidizing the cost of converting cars from petrol to gas

The state will subsidize more than half of the expenses of businesses and citizens on the transfer of vehicles from petrol to gas. This decision was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Document: Decree of June 19, 2020 No. 886

The document amends one of the annexes to the state program "Energy Development", which defines the rules for granting subsidies to citizens, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises for the refitting of cars, public transport and public utilities for working on gas. The new order implies a twofold increase in subsidy standards in 2020 - from the current 30% to 60% of the total cost of work.

The decision will stimulate the transfer of vehicles from petrol to gas and will support the demand for this type of fuel from business and citizens.

The state program “Energy Development” provides for an increase in the volume of natural gas consumption as motor fuel up to 2.7 billion cubic meters in 2024. At the same time, work is underway to develop the necessary infrastructure for this. Within five years, about 1.3 thousand gas stations should be built in Russia.
